Our Training

As we progress towards the rank of black belt,  we learn many different kicks, punches, blocks, arm holds and locks, chokes, kata and even some traditional Japanese weapons.

We never expect perfection in the techniques you learn, but we do expect everyone to do their absolute best.  The student who demonstrates this ability in martial arts training can expect to do very well in life.

Martial arts training takes dedication and desire.  We train to prepare ourselves to defend against would-be attackers but also more importantly, we prepare ourselves to become better persons.

White belts will learn the fundamentals such as:

Front Punch
Power Punch
Side Strike
Reverse Punch

Upward Kick
Knee Kick
Side Kick
Back Kick

Upward Block
Inside Block
Outside Block
Downward Block

Kata - Sekimon

As the student advances to other ranks,  the training will always include the basics.  We begin training in basic arm locks and chokes at the Yellow belt level along with Kobudo training with nunchaku.  We also start learning new kata.

All throughout the ranks below black belt,  students will become familiar with techniques from various martial arts including Jujitsu, Aikido and Pressure Points (Ryukyu Kempo)

When students earn their black belt,  they become eligible for advanced training in all the above arts plus others such as Judo.
