Head Instructor


 

Bob Goodwin, Sensei

Sensei began Martial Arts training in the mid 1960's studying Judo.  During the 1970's he was introduced to Jeet Kune Do, Karate and Boxing while in the service. In the 1980's, Sensei began the study of the grappling arts.

When not involved in the Martial Arts, Sensei plays music with his Church's praise & worship band on Sunday mornings and is involved with bands in Northeast Missouri. He enjoys riding his motorcycles, and spending quality time with his family.

Karate - 4th Degree
Jun Kin Shin - 4th Degree
Showa Ryu Jujitsu - 4th Degree
Kagami Ryu Aikibugei - 4th Degree
Judo - 2nd Degree

Most Recent Honors:

2008:  

Involved with creation of new Martial Arts organization (SMAA) and had assumed the duties of Webmaster and one of five Yudansha Taigu before stepping down from these positions.

2007:

Served as Co-Director of the USMA International Hall of Fame
Served as USMA Senior Training Camp Instructor

2006:

Served as USMA Senior Training Camp Instructor

2005:

Awarded Rank of Yudansha Taigu by O-Sensei Phil Porter
Became a member of the USMA Grandmaster's Council
Awarded the "USMA Donn E. Schucker Award of Merit"
Served as USMA Seniors & Juniors Training Camp Instructor
Served as USMA Tournament Referee (USMA's First Ever Tournament)

2004:

Recognized by the USMA as Most Distinguished Instructor of the Year
Served as USMA Junior Training Camp Instructor

2003:

Recognized by the USMA as Instructor of the Year
Served as USMA Junior Training Camp Instructor

2002:

Recognized by the USMA as Webmaster of the Year
Recognized by the Yata No Kagami Yudanshakai as Martial Artist of the Year
Served as USMA Junior Training Camp Instructor

Sensei has studied with many of the top instructors in the country such as O-Sensei Phil Porter, Donn Schucker, Bill Wallace, Steve Silvey, Will Higginbotham, Frank Corbo and many many others.
