How our advancement system works

We all have watched martial arts action movies and dreamt of being one of those action heroes.  We can't promise you a movie role, but we CAN offer you the opportunity to learn "real" martial arts.   As we begin our study,  the hope is, that we will eventually achieve the rank of black belt.   In the meantime,  we all set our short term goals of getting our next belt.  This will keep our interest as we make progress toward our long term goal of becoming a black belt.

We normally have an advancement test 3 times per year with the exception of black belt and higher ranks.  The black belt and above only test once per year.

In addition to this,  a students attendance for the session must not exceed missing 2 classes at the most.   As always,  make-up classes are available.

The chart will show the required time in grade and belt meaning.  The times shown are the absolute minimum requirements only, and the actual promotion intervals may vary considerably.
